A massive mid-century Modern structure, the 736,000-sf Prince Jonah K?hi? Kalanianaole Federal Building and Courthouse will undergo major modernization and repurposing. RicciGreene Associates serves as courts planning and design associate architect to the lead architect Gensler in the update of this important civic structure. The renovations will upgrade the energy performance, water tightness and security features of the building, update technology capabilities, reorganize space use and provide a new courtroom.

RicciGreene collaborated with Gensler designers to develop a series of options that satisfy the court's and marshal's operational needs while allowing phased construction in the fully-occupied courthouse. RicciGreene planned the reorganization of the U.S. Marshal Service space and collaborated with Gensler in the design of a new courtroom.
