The City of Philadelphia Family Court, under the auspices of a Pittsburgh developer, commissioned RicciGreene Associates to conduct an analysis of the current Juvenile and Domestic Courts to explore the potential consolidation of the two branches within one building. Currently each court occupies its own facility, and both labor under the shortcomings of their current homes. The Family Court explored the idea of having a developer design, build, finance and lease-back modern quarters for the combined courts facility, providing a new home for these busy courts for the new century. In association with Kelly/Maiello, Inc., we performed an assessment of the courts' spatial and func- tional needs, provided a detailed space program, and evaluated several sites.
